Independent & Community-Driven

About PowerCut.today

Welcome to powercut.today, an independent, community-driven platform created to bring real-time transparency to electricity outages across India.

We believe that when the lights go out, you shouldn't be left in the dark wondering if it's just your house, your apartment complex, or the entire neighborhood. By combining real-time, user-submitted reports with interactive geographic maps, we help you understand exactly what is happening in your locality instantly.

Traditional electricity boards often struggle to provide instant hyper-local updates. Our crowdsourced tracking network bridges this communication gap, enabling neighbors to inform neighbors with zero friction.

Our Mission

Community First

Power cuts disrupt remote work, studies, and everyday life. Our mission is to provide an open, single-click platform where citizens can share and access live power cut and restoration updates.

Real-Time Transparency

We eliminate confusion during power interruptions by visualizing user reports on an interactive map, offering quick visibility into local distribution grid behaviors.

Simplicity & Speed

Built to be fast, lightweight, and mobile-friendly so anyone can check or report an outage within seconds, even on low 2G/3G network connectivity during a blackout.

How It Works

Single-Tap Outage ReportingWith just one click (“Power Gaya” or “Power Aya”), your browser shares approximate coordinate data to register an outage or restoration in your area.
Live Status MappingSubmitted updates appear instantly on our public outage map, helping neighboring residents verify if the issue is localized to a building or spreading across the entire sector.
Community ValidationThe more residents report in an area, the more accurate the live outage cluster becomes for everyone.
